On the other side Celtic boss Tony Mowbray faces a baptism by fire in his first few games as he will need to plot a strategy to overcome Arsenal in the Champions League qualifying round. Celtic did admirably well to overcome Dinamo Moscow, but Arsenal are in an altogether different league.

Being thrown out of Europe will certainly be a big blow to Celtic and Mowbray will not want to start his new career in this manner. The club has so far signed Stockport defender Josh Thompson and have let go of many players who were deemed surplus to requirements.
